Knicks can dream big because of Karl-Anthony Towns

There's a lot of promise about what Karl-Anthony Towns will be for the Knicks. Some of them are obvious. Some of them are self-explanatory.

Let's start with the size. 7 feet is 1 inch and 248 pounds is 1 ounce. There are also shooting incidents. He knocked down the first two threes he saw in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. His sense of the ball is great. He averaged 12.3 rebounds per game and grabbed 13 more in the Knicks' 111-99 victory over the 76ers at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

But then you see plays like the one Towns made with 3:03 left in the game. The Knicks overcame the young season bugaboo, playing near-perfect ball already in the first nine minutes of the fourth quarter, taking a 99-86 lead. Josh Hart fed him in the low post. There were still 11 seconds left on the shot clock.

Behind Towns was Andre Drummond. Kyle Lowry came down and doubled. Towns had the ball in his right hand. Tom Thibodeau always, literally always says, “The game will tell you what to do.” That's right. And it also helps that he has pretty good instincts and a really high basketball IQ.
