This is the Knicks now. This is the team. These are players. This is true, and for now, as Jalen Brunson's right ankle continues to be protected by walking boots for at least a few weeks. The Knicks have a long vision along with Branson. He made some light fires. He still needs intense healing.
That's bad news. What's bad for Branson is if they can't get it back with at least four Knicks' remaining 15 games. In that case, he won't play 65 games in the season, and he'll be disqualified due to consideration of the All-NBA (he was almost certain he would land on the second team) and the Clutch Player of the Year Award.
But here's the good news:
For those who expected the Knicks to crazed on the ball and mourned the loss of the captain with real tears and miserable basketball, they are now 3-2 without him. Thermal culture seems to work much better if you have some good heat basketball players too.
