Saquon Barkley is embracing the Philadelphia vibe, but he can’t 100% avoid the wrath of the New York faithful.
The 2018 No. 2 overall pick signed a three-year contract with the Eagles after spending six seasons with the New York Giants.
The running back went on record for saying he wanted to be a Giants player for the rest of his life, sparking hatred on social media. It’s worth noting that the Giants didn’t even offer Barkley a contract and released him despite being able to put the franchise tag on him.

But fandom doesn’t always have to be meaningful, and Giants fans are still furious (while also saying he wasn’t worth what Philadelphia paid him anyway).
Now, Barkley attended Game 6 between the 76ers and the Knicks at the Wells Fargo Center, along with new teammate AJ Brown, and the Sixers owner donated 2,000 to local first responders and community groups. Despite having purchased only one ticket, Knicks fans (and Giants fans, obviously) can still crash the party.

“It’s been two months since then… (lol) I can’t believe you’re still this angry! Midfielder can’t even go to the basketball game,” Barkley posted on X right after the game.
One user replied that he had “rescued” and now had to “reap the whirlwind”, but Mr Barclay defended himself.

This was not the first time Berkeley had to sue. When Giants all-time rusher Tiki Barber said Barkley was “dead” to him, he flatly said:
“@TikiBarber, haha, yeah, you’re a prime example of team loyalty,” Barkley wrote to X, adding that Barber “hated him ever since he came to New York.”
“We got the contract we wanted and secured more funding.” [guaranteed money] That’s something I’ve never been given before…so if the fans are going to hate me for that, so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and was always on their side. ”

Berkeley later apologized for playing the villain during his exit.
“The game was good,” Barkley said, even though the Sixers’ loss sent the Knicks into the second round of the playoffs.made me a geek household use [sic] I’ll play a game with Link. ”
