Cody Clemens Shines at Fenway Park
On Saturday, Cody Clemens felt an immense sense of pride for his father, the iconic former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens, as he showcased his talents during a game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.
“It was amazing,” Roger shared while he stood in the box with his wife, Debbie, and Cody’s wife, Jessica, during a rain delay.
“Just think about it—I’m wearing his shoes out here. He’s here at Fenway, and it’s just incredible to witness. Hitting a home run? That’s the pinnacle for a player.”
After Cody launched a home run, fans returned the ball to the field, and the attendant tossed it into the stands. Somehow, though, Roger managed to retrieve it.
“We got the ball,” he remarked delightedly after the Twins secured a 4-3 victory.
He explained that a friend had noted where the attendant had thrown the ball, which allowed him to beckon the fans and their families to come to Roger’s box.
The seven-time Cy Young Award winner expressed his intention to take photos with his fans and share some memories.
Debbie, sharing in the excitement, exclaimed, “It was so crazy! It was wonderful to be here and experience this together for the first time.”
Cody, now 28, is in his fourth MLB season, having previously played for the Phillies before joining the Twins after his contract was purchased on April 26. He’s already made a noticeable impact, participating in five games with his new team.
