Kristi Noem Reacts to South Park Parody

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem addressed a recent parody of herself featured in “South Park” during an interview with Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck.

The show, known for its satirical take on political matters, is currently in its 27th season. The opening episodes have already presented a rather unflattering depiction of former President Donald Trump.

Noem expressed her thoughts on the portrayal, saying, “If they want to criticize my work, they can go right ahead. But obviously they can’t, so they resort to this kind of thing.”

In the latest episode, a character resembling Noem is shown in a bizarre scene where her face melts, prompting her aides to chase after it to restore its appearance.

Beck shared how he dealt with his own caricature on the show: “I remember when ‘South Park’ depicted me as Cartman. I had no clue it was happening at the time. It was years later when I watched it again with my son, and we both had a good laugh about it. Welcome to the club!”

Noem admitted she hasn’t had much time to watch the series, but she’s aware of the jokes made at her expense. She commented, “It’s never really acceptable, but it feels especially lazy to mock women based on their looks.”

“It’s typically the liberals and the extremists that do this. If they want to critique my actual work, I welcome that, but they just can’t seem to manage it.”

The White House previously dismissed “South Park” as irrelevant. The show has also taken aim at immigration enforcement, highlighting the challenges in recruiting for it and showing scenes that reflect this issue.

One segment features comedic lines suggesting that certain standards have been lowered to attract recruits, stating, “If you’re crazy or out of shape, we don’t mind!”

The episodes also depict characters shooting various dogs in absurd scenarios, referencing a fictional incident from 2024 where a hunting dog was labeled as dangerous.

Additionally, there’s a scene involving the deportation of characters labeled as “illegal aliens,” claiming they are assured a place in heaven. One character humorously quips, “There are no more brownies in heaven!” just before the melting face scene unfolds.
