Kisle Gondrezczyk took two careers to come back after being released by the Chicago Sky in June.
The free agent guard is juggling his fashion career with his acting career while training for a return to the WNBA, the new Unrivaled League.
“I’m all over the place right now,” Gondrezick, 27, told the Post while discussing his partnership with Smirnoff Smash Vodka Soda. “I am attending acting classes and receiving acting training. I am preparing to shoot a film project for 2025.
“It's been a tough year. It's funny because someone said, 'Ever since you got cut, and since you were in the league, you've been trending even more. And you've been trending a lot more in the league. “I'm just living in the beauty of my purpose.'' ”
Gondrezik's tunnel fit, including sultry suits and power blazers, took the league by storm and helped her build a strong following off the court.
Brands like Victoria's Secret, among others, were hooked.
On June 21, one week after being cut, Gondrezick attended the Celtics' victory parade with her boyfriend, Boston guard and 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown.
The following month, the two made their red carpet debut at the 2024 ESPY Awards in July, celebrated her birthday together in August, and then traveled to Dubai. online photos.
Gondrezick attended New York Fashion Week in September and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York City last month.
The couple attended the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show on September 8th.
“Honestly, it’s been a great year,” she said with a smile. “And I think the kickstart started with me coming back to the league, and that was the ultimate goal, to get back to the W-League. Obviously it wasn't, but I don't question God.
“… I’m really looking forward to seeing how my journey with W goes, because I don’t think it’s going to end anytime soon. I don’t want to say it was an ending. I would say it was more of a transition period. I want to.”
Gondrezick was selected by the Fever fourth overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft out of West Virginia University. She scored 36 points in 19 games that season at Indiana University.
In 2022, she spent training camp with Sky.
Chicago signed Gondrezick to a training camp contract in February, which was later changed to a one-year non-guaranteed contract.
Sky star Angel Reese, one of Gondreczyk's best friends, supported her even after she left.
Asked about Unrivaled, a new 3×3 league founded by the Liberty's Brianna Stewart and the Lynx's Nafeesa Collier, Gondreczuk said, “It's a no-brainer for me.”
“I'm just taking it one day at a time, doing my part and being ready so I don't have to prepare. Obviously, it was a conversation as well, with my team and my agent. I've already been in contact with the coach and the general manager and they just want to know my prescription.”
Unrivaled held its first draft on Wednesday, and although Gondrezick was not selected, there are still two wild card spots available on the six-team league's roster.
Gondrezick has been making a name for himself outside of the game until he hears from a team.
Gondrezik, a native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, said he will soon be announcing a “huge project” among other things he's been working on.
But she's a hooper at heart.
“It's exciting, but I've been training hard in basketball training,” said Gondrezick, who competed in a pickleball tournament at SPF Chicago in partnership with Smirnoff Smash last Wednesday.
“My goal is to return to the league for next season. I'm very grateful that basketball gave me the opportunity to move on to other fields. [the game] my true love.
“[Basketball] is my first love and I am taking this very seriously again and feel that I am obligated to complete it completely before looking at other career fields from a longevity perspective. ”
Gondreczyk is patiently working on the next chapter of his journey
“This is God's plan, God's timing, and I'm just walking along the steps God has called me to take,” she said.
