LA Golf Club falls as top seed in TGL playoffs, New York advances to final

The first playoff match in TGL history took place Monday night and featured the top seeded Los Angeles Golf Club.

Teams work hard throughout the regular season in all sports. Take a look at the upcoming NCAA tournament as an example.

As far as March Madness is concerned, there is only one top seed to lose the opening round matchup in the first playoff match in TLG history, as Los Angeles fell to New York Golf Club and went out without too many fights.

If there was a point where things tilted one direction in the other, it was on a short putt. New York took care of the business all night, but LA struggled very hard. Their season officially ended when he missed a putt who saw Tommy Fleetwood make it on the PGA Tour multiple times.

New York is accurate within 10 feet, accounting for 75% of attempts. Meanwhile, LA converted only 33% of the opportunities from the same distance. When you miss a layup to that extent, you simply can't win.

Although NYGC struggled early in the season, Xander Schauffele's return helped stabilize things and certainly helped them reach the final matchup of the league's first season. New York will face the winners of the Atlanta Drive and Bay Golf Club matchup, scheduled for Tuesday evening. The league's final will be the best of three series, with its first match being held on Monday, March 24th.

Praise to New York for achieving that. perhaps Yankees Fans can finally rest after the final playoff matchup goes down between the Big Apple and Lara land teams.
