Pop icon Lady Gaga's father has announced his support for former President Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
“I support Donald Trump. I support his policies,” Joe Germanotta said on “Fox & Friends” Thursday.
The restaurant owner's announcement comes days after a second assassination attempt on President Trump amid a tight election race.
“They're two very different people. One is pure and a patriot. The other just says whatever it takes to get elected. That's basically what I'm hearing. I'm tired of hearing about her neighbor's lawn,” he said.

The showdown between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Trump remains within the margin of error in seven key battleground states that are likely to determine Biden's victory over Trump in the 2020 presidential election and decide the winner of the 2024 election.
But a recent Fox News poll showed Harris leading Trump by two points in head-to-head battles.
Despite a three percentage point change since mid-August, Trump still maintains high support among voters in terms of who they can trust to address key issues.

On the economy, voters favored Trump over Harris by five points.
“Six years ago, before COVID-19 hit, this was going to be Joan's best year ever. And by best year, I mean a year that was 25% more than any other year,” Germanotta argued.
Immigration and public safety are among other key election issues where voters favor the former president over Harris.
A Fox News poll found that 50% of voters believe Trump will make the country safer, and 54% approve of him on immigration.
“The way I see it, it's an invasion,” Germanotta said of the Biden-Harris administration's immigration policies.
“There is no longer a secure border. There is no longer legal immigration. My clients, my customers, people who used to come once a week, now come once every three weeks. They are not coming to New York City.”

The New York City restaurateur said his decision to support the former president was ultimately one of policy, not personality.
“The real platform is, I'm not voting for the people. I mean, Donald is aggressive. But he's a patriot and his policies are there. Either way, they're spot on for me. I want lower fuel and food prices, lower interest rates, support the police, a good economy, support the police, law and order, and keeping jobs in the United States of America.”
Fox News' Dana Blanton and Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.
