Houston police used a press conference Sunday afternoon to announce that the Lakewood church attacker was a woman.
According to Breitbart News, the attacker was stopped by a good man with a gun, who Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez initially identified as a Harris County deputy. However, Gonzalez later issued a correction, noting that the gunman was stopped when “other agencies opened fire.” according to Go to ABC News.
The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m.

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said during a Sunday afternoon press conference. explained The shooter at the Lakewood church was described as a 30- to 35-year-old woman armed with a long rifle. She was wearing a trench coat and carrying a backpack.
The woman had a small child. Two off-duty officers, a 38-year-old TABC officer and a 28-year-old off-duty Houston police officer, opened fire, fatally shooting the woman.
A 5-year-old child was shot and left in critical condition, and a 57-year-old man was also shot and injured.
Finner said the woman was “threatened” to be shot and claimed she had explosives. The female shooter died from her gunshot wounds.
Finner stressed that he believed the attack was an “isolated incident.”
