Lane Kiffin blasts Penn State after Ole Miss upset win

Lane Kiffin thinks exactly what you're thinking.

His Ole Miss Rebels entered Saturday's Peach Bowl as a 5.5-point underdog against the Penn State Nittany Lions, but he appears to have used that as message board fodder.

“Wait, Penn State actually thought they couldn't win,” X user @__vierr said on X.

“5.5 points favorite son” Kiffin replied.

The Rebels defeated the Nittany Lions 38-25 thanks to great play from QB Jackson Dart.

Dart threw for 379 yards and three touchdowns as he looked to get another chance, clearly outperforming Penn State's highly touted quarterback prospect Drew Aller.

The Rebels signal-caller hooked up with tight end Caden Preiskone early and often, finishing with 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Interestingly, the Nittany Lions opened at -3.5 and moved to -5.5 before the Peach Bowl.

At least some big-time sports bettors were joining James Franklin's group to cover the spread.

The Rebels had a money line of +160 before their two-run win over Penn State.

Giants legend Eli Manning had a different idea about the Nittany Lions, saying the quarterback needs to shine.

“Penn State needed Chad Powers today,” Manning posted on X, referring to a commercial Manning appeared in when he pretended to be a 2022 Penn State walk-on.

What they really needed was for Penn State's No. 1-ranked run defense to step up when it mattered most.

However, he systematically beat the Nittany Lions behind him, allowing running back Quinshon Judkins to rush for 106 yards on 34 carries.
