Lara Trump Hints That Numerous Family Members Might Seek Political Positions

Lara Trump Suggests Potential Political Aspirations for Family Members

During a recent episode of “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine,” Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, hinted that some family members might consider pursuing political office.

The discussion, led by host Miranda Devine, touched on the possible “Trump 2028” candidacy and whether other family members are involved, including Lara’s own potential ambitions. She revealed that she has contemplated running for a Senate seat twice and hasn’t dismissed the idea of running for president in the future.

“Watching my stepfather for the past 11, almost 12 years has shown me the significant impact he has on people’s lives,” Lara shared. “It’s quite remarkable. He’s faced many challenges, yet I’ve also witnessed the positive effects he can have. It’s genuinely inspiring and I think it really has motivated our family. So, I’ve thought about running for a Senate seat; I wouldn’t say I won’t consider other options.”

“When the moment is right, I think I might think about it further. What that looks like, I’m not really sure, but I believe we’ve all been immersed in politics enough to realize it could be a concern for our families,” she continued. “Democrats might want to worry about this, as it seems things might not just end with Donald Trump. Timing is essential for all of us.”

Eric Trump, Lara’s husband, has also kept the door open regarding a presidential run. In contrast, Donald Trump Jr. has previously stated he has no intention of vying for an office in the 2028 race, citing his friendship with Vice President J.D. Vance and his efforts to support him as a nominee in 2024.

“I have always believed it could happen, but I currently have no interest in pursuing any political office in 2028,” Donald Jr. mentioned in a post.

Political analyst Chris Sillizza remarked that Donald Jr. might be the only Republican capable of challenging Vance for the 2028 nomination. However, he doesn’t foresee Donald Jr. campaigning against Vance. Meanwhile, President Trump stated at a White House event that Vance appears to be the frontrunner for the MAGA movement in 2028, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio also being a notable figure who could collaborate with Vance.

In a separate discussion, Vance reassured Devine that there is “no tension” with Rubio about the leadership spot among the 2028 candidates, referring to Rubio as a “close friend” within the administration.
