Lara Trump Expresses Her Fears Over Potential Threats to Her Father-in-Law

In a recent interview, Lara Trump shared her concerns about the risks her father-in-law faces whenever he’s in public. Talking with Chris Cuomo, she admitted that, every time Donald Trump appears, she worries about the possibility of an assassination attempt.

This discussion took place shortly after an incident where a would-be assailant attempted to breach a security checkpoint during a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner that the Trumps and key Cabinet members attended. Cuomo highlighted Mr. Trump’s remarks during a press conference shortly after the incident, noting how it seemed to unite people momentarily, regardless of their political affiliations.

“We have to remember that we’re human, Chris. I think that’s the main thing,” Lara noted. “At the end of the day, we’re all more similar than different. We basically want the same things. Safety, security, and a better future for our kids—that’s universal.”

As she spoke, Lara emphasized the importance of recognizing our shared humanity, particularly in such divisive times. “Donald Trump is human too. He doesn’t deserve this constant threat to his life,” she remarked. “Imagine having to think, ‘Is someone going to try to take me out today?’ How terrifying is that?”

The interview follows a worrying weekend where a suspect shot a Secret Service agent, although the officer survived due to wearing a bulletproof vest. The assailant, identified as Cole Allen, was apprehended and charged with multiple felonies, having planned to target Trump administration officials and even prepared a manifesto detailing his intentions.

In the aftermath of the shooting, the Trumps and others attending the dinner were evacuated, casting a somber shadow over the event. The incident has led to increased conversations about the risks public figures face today.

Fox News Digital has sought comments from the White House regarding these developments.
