Las Vegas man allegedly killed a woman in Mexico while on the run after girlfriend’s death

A Las Vegas man was arrested in Mexico for hoping to kill his girlfriend in 2023. There he is accused of killing another woman.

Oswald Perez Sanchez is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Tavasa Tozzi after an argument in April 2023 and will soon escape, The Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas said.

Authorities searched Perez Sanchez for two years, and the FBI joined the investigation a year later. Authorities at Villa Fontana in Culiacan arrested him on April 7th in connection with the death of another woman.

The Metropolitan Police Department in Las Vegas said he has been staying in Mexico with local accusations, waiting for extradition to the US.

Perez Sanchez reportedly lived under the alias “Jorge N” while hiding in the area. According to KTNV.

It was not immediately clear whether Perez Sanchez had entered the plea.

Following his arrest, Regina Lacerda, the mother of his ex-girlfriend, Tabatha Tozzi, expressed her relief for his arrest – and sympathised with the allegations of his other victims.

“I’m so happy and sad. I’m happy because my daughter, Tabatha’s murderer, was caught. It was the moment we’ve been waiting for nearly two years! I knew this moment would arrive soon.

“But I am very sad, too, as he took the life of another young woman. Vivian Karely. Her name deserves respect and we will continue to honor her.”

She continued: “I am heartbroken by the fact that my mother has gone through what I have been going on over the last two years. I don’t want this from anyone! I have lost your daughter, and it is extremely painful, especially through the horrifying feminaiko. My mother deserves this.

Tozzi’s family will celebrate her life at a monument at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
