A Southern California school board has responded to complaints from Latino parents after a high school teacher's profanity-laced tirade against Latino voters supporting President-elect Donald Trump went viral online. He was criticized.
Several students, parents and members of the public attended Tuesday's Moreno Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) board meeting. Several students spoke out in support of a Valley View High School teacher, identified as AP World History teacher Maximiliano Perez, after he was placed on administrative leave. I raised my voice. A clip of his rant went viral after it was shared to X by a senior researcher at the American Culture Project Corey DeAngelis last week. Perez, who identified herself as Mexican-American in the video, warned the students that they could be sent to “concentration camps” or have “no human rights” because of President Trump.
He also made some derogatory comments about Latinos who voted for Trump.

“I know a lot of Latino men who want to be white, but they'll never admit it. A lot of your fathers, a lot of your uncles, a lot of your grandfathers. God, they're so I want to be white.'' But they never are, I hate Latino men who oppress the women in their families and their own daughters, and they turn their backs and vote for the men who want to oppress them. ” Perez said. “This teacher should be fired and hate speech should not be tolerated at all,” she demanded.

Kenneth Prado, a board member of the neighboring Hemet Unified School District who spoke in his personal capacity, also called the teacher's comments bigoted.

Fred Banuelos, who identifies as a Mexican-American Trump supporter, said Perez's comments in the classroom were “unacceptable.”
“He said things that you should never say. He used profanity and that was totally unacceptable… He has a right to say things like that, but that's not the case at our school. That was just over the line,” he said.
“There has to be some serious consequence,” he continued.

The Moreno Valley Unified School District previously told Fox News Digital that the teacher has been placed on administrative leave and an investigation has been launched into his actions.

The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this review,” the district said in a statement. “We recognize the heightened emotions surrounding the current political climate and deeply value the diversity of our community, which encompasses a wide range of perspectives and beliefs. Another student, Jaylene Bailey, said her teacher “saved my life” by providing encouragement during a dark time.
“Mr. Perez saved my life, taught me that I mattered among thousands of students, and helped me further my education.
