Laurent Nicollin Shocks The Hell Out Of Montpellier’s Fanbase After Firing Michel Der Zakarian Right On Live TV

Just imagine if owners started doing this in American sports … The chaos.

Laurent Nicollin — the president of Montpellier (French Ligue 1) — utterly shocked his fanbase after making the announcement that manager Michel Der Zakarian had been fired, doing so right on live television while he was speaking in a post-match interview.

The season has gotten off to a horrible start for MHSC, now being at the very bottom of the league winning only one out of their last eight contests, yikes! Things were no different in a recent 5-0 blowout defeat against Marseille at the Stade de la Mosson, with it only taking 44 seconds for Marseille to score their first goal. Der Zakarian has been at the helm of the club since 2023, but that all changed when Nicollin kept it an absolute bean after the defeat.

“We can’t change 25 players so, unfortunately, I’ve taken the initiative to stop Michel tonight,” Nicollin told DAZN France, according to The Mirror. “We talked in the locker room after the game. I told him it was over tonight. I said to the players that, thanks to their great job, they had fired the coach and that they need to take their responsibilities next week against Toulouse.”

Savage!

Cold-blooded as hell, damn …
