At the beginning of each episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” one of television's longest-running series, a message appears on the screen: “The following story is a work of fiction and does not depict any real people or events.”
But the show takes inspiration from real-life scandals, with episodes featuring actual crime re-enactments, including the domestic violence scandal involving Rihanna and Chris Brown and the sexual abuse case involving disgraced reality TV star Josh Duggar.
One SVU fan believes the show's scripts have changed and are moving in a more woke direction, and now they're complaining to the cast.
TV shows like “Friends” and “Seinfeld” are not suited to today's woke culture.

Back in early August, while the Paris Olympics were still underway, Ice-T, who has been on the crime drama since season two, wrote that he was back in sergeant mode. He plays Sergeant Odafin “Finn” Tutuola, the No. 2 to Mariska Hargitay's character.
“Looks like we're all at the Olympics,” the actor wrote to X, revealing that he's currently on set filming season 26 of SVU.

28 days later, a user on the social networking platform replied to Ice-T's post, saying, “Is SVU back on track yet? Starting to wake up.”
Ice-T, whose real name is Tracy Lauren Marrow, was quick to respond, taking issue with the joke.
“Woke? LOL I don't care,” he retorted.

The rapper has always been outspoken and never apologized for his curt responses. After receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in February 2023, he told Fox News Digital that cancel culture doesn't affect him.

“They've been trying to cancel me for 40 years… I'm hard to cancel,” Ice-T said. “I've already told everybody all my flaws, all my bad habits, and everybody's excited about it.”
“People have to learn to hate their superiors. Nobody hates anyone below them. Nobody picks on people who are worse off than them… I use that as motivation. If someone tells me, 'You can't do it,' that means I have to do it,” he continued. “I use that negative energy as fuel. I feed off of hatred.”
