Nomination of President Trump for Nobel Peace Prize
On January 29, 2025, I reached out to the Norwegian Nobel Committee with a pressing sense of urgency. This was shortly after President Trump took office, and the committee’s nomination deadline was approaching fast.
Some people thought it was premature, but I believed they weren’t seeing the full picture. My nomination was specifically linked to the actual release of hostages, something I wanted to highlight as a testament to his steadfast dedication in securing their freedom from one of the most unstable regions in the world.
A Personal Victory
As an American-Israeli and a law professor, I witnessed the alarming rise of anti-Semitism and ongoing attacks against my community. The return of my fellow citizens, who were taken hostage, feels like a personal triumph to me. These innocent individuals, snatched from their families, endured harsh captivity and were used as tools in a war against basic civilization. Their safe return represents justice and humanity, and I firmly believe President Trump can be pivotal in this process.
Historical Influence
President Trump’s impact on diplomacy is already significant. He’s been behind the Abraham Accords, which fundamentally altered the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. His ability to negotiate peace, hold adversaries accountable, and build alliances establishes him as a leading figure in our era. It’s noteworthy that even Iran, a long-time supporter of terrorism, has had to change its stance because of the new dynamics Trump’s policies have introduced.
The Possibility of Peace
If President Trump succeeds in his efforts, it would be a remarkable achievement—one that no prior president has managed. It could finally make the dream of enduring peace in the Middle East a tangible reality, thereby extending the vision laid out by the Abraham Accords.
His exceptional negotiation skills—marked by a unique blend of strategic thinking, timing, and persuasion—have redefined what can be accomplished. Trump approaches diplomacy with the same clarity of purpose and willingness to walk away that often characterizes successful business dealings. This combination of resolve and vision has turned what many believed was unattainable into a landmark stride toward peace.
Hopes for the Future
I submitted my nomination filled with hopes. Hopes that his leadership would save lives, that his administration would tackle anti-Semitism, and that the hostage return would herald a new era of peace in the Middle East. Here’s to that possibility.
