Visitor logs from the White House indicate that many prominent Democratic leaders who have publicly praised former President Joe Biden have frequently visited him, which suggests they may be aware of his cognitive decline. Mike Marinella, a spokesperson for the National Republican Congressional Committee, has criticized these leaders for, what he describes as, a concealment of Biden’s issues and for being involved in significant political scandals.
This situation is examined in detail in a newly released book, which discusses what it terms “The Original Sin: President Biden’s decline, its cover-up, and his unfortunate decision to run again.” The conversations surrounding Biden’s health have gained attention, particularly after a recent leaked audio featuring Robert Huar, a special advisor to Biden, where he seems to struggle with memory lapses.
Dems face a litmus test on Biden’s cognitive abilities
Visitor logs detail that between 2022 and 2024, four key Democratic leaders regularly attended meetings at the White House. Notably, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries from New York logged 21 visits during that period, likely making him well-acquainted with Biden’s condition. Nevertheless, Jeffries has publicly expressed his confidence in Biden’s abilities, stating in a 2023 interview that Biden is “an incredible negotiator” and “strategist,” emphasizing his intelligence and strength.
Trump expresses hopes for Biden’s recovery after cancer diagnosis
Amidst ongoing discussions about Biden’s leadership, Jeffries maintains that Biden is among the most skilled presidents in U.S. history and the strongest candidate against Donald Trump. Interestingly, Jeffries’ visits occurred just before a much-criticized debate performance, which many say should lead Biden to step down from the 2024 race.
Other prominent Democrats, such as Katherine Clark and Suzan Delbene, also frequently visited the White House during this time and have voiced their support for Biden. Delbene pointedly criticized Democrats who prioritize tax cuts for the wealthy over reproductive rights. Aguilar, who visited 10 times, reaffirmed his support for Biden despite the controversies.
Clark, visiting the White House 27 times, expressed his backing for Biden but hesitated to declare whether Biden should continue his campaign, stating that the decision lies with the president. After Biden announced his withdrawal from the race, Clark commended him for his respected leadership on the global stage.
The former president comments publicly since his cancer diagnosis
While the situation unfolds, the Democratic leaders, including Jeffries, Clark, Aguilar, and Delbene, have not responded to requests for comments. Marinella highlighted the perceived dishonesty of Democratic leaders in handling these controversies, suggesting that voters will remember their actions. It raises concerns about how this narrative will play out as the 2024 election approaches.
