Children’s Day at the White House
Washington – Kids are picking up some interesting tidbits at the White House. It turns out President Trump enjoys candy and is quite the hugger.
On Tuesday, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt held a unique briefing for “Take Your Child to Work Day.” She fielded questions from young reporters, whose parents work in various roles within the administration and media.
One young boy was curious, asking about the President’s candy consumption. “How much candy does he eat in a day?” he inquired.
“A fair amount of candy,” Levitt chuckled, before revealing that the President has a fondness for pink Starburst and Tootsie Rolls.
Another child wanted to know about Trump’s go-to orders at McDonald’s.
“He loves McDonald’s burgers and fries. Who wouldn’t?” Levitt responded, later mentioning that the President’s favorite food isn’t available at the fast-food chain.
“Trump enjoys a variety of meals, but I think steak is probably his favorite,” Levitt noted.
At 78 years old, and with a known preference for steak cooked well done, he has fascinated and puzzled food enthusiasts since his presidency began in 2016.
The briefing room was filled with about half children, ranging from toddlers to kids around 11 years old.
Among those in attendance was Levitt’s own 10-month-old son, Nico.
Laughter filled the room as kids posed all sorts of questions. One boy asked who the President’s favorite child was, while another wanted to know the news outlet Levitt liked best. Her response? “It depends on the day.”
One child inquired about how many people Trump has fired, to which Levitt referred to one individual—the former national security advisor Mike Waltz, who was recently appointed as UN ambassador, a situation Trump termed a creative layoff.
Other questions included whether Trump enjoys hugs. Levitt mentioned that he does share many hugs, including with First Lady Melania Trump. As for his favorite ice cream, she confirmed it’s chocolate sundaes.
