Two-time NBA champion Isiah Thomas called out LeBron James for his shirtless appearance on Houston’s court, saying it should be a great crime.
In the NBATV segment, the network was previewing upcoming games between James’s Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. The camera quickly cut to James, taking practice shots at the Toyota Center in Houston, shirtless, looking like grey sweatpants and drag.
As the footage rolled, Thomas immediately expressed his dislike for James’ outfit.
“I’m totally 100% against this,” Thomas said.
One of his colleagues added, “Me too.”
“If I were a GM or a coach, then one of the players would never go out on the floor like this. So we are a professional NBA league. We are not a summer league. We are not a YMCA.
Another former player and NBA champion panelist Steve Smith agreed with Thomas, suggesting that the league needs to “go back to suits.”

Now 63, Thomas is known as one of the most physically toughest players ever, and is one of the voices. However, fans will find him in subformal attire when acting in NBA abilities as a coach or player.
“I think our NBA league professionalism has diminished very much,” Thomas continued. “Look, I like LeBron, I’m a fan of him. But I’ll go on the floor before the game, don’t wear a shirt, I’ll shoot, I mean, where are we?
“Adam Silver, if you want to make someone better, punish them, and fine them,” Thomas said.
James responded the following day on most accounts, but he was not trying to respond directly to Thomas’ comments.
“I was going to say something, but that’s useless at this point in my career!” I wrote itbefore congratulating his coach on a great season.
