LeBron James calls out Lakers, drops cryptic tweet after Hawks loss

LeBron James is dropping cryptic tweets while telling it like it is.

After the Lakers lost by 16 points for the second straight year against the Hawks on Tuesday night, falling 138-122 and falling below .500 again, James wasn’t shy about expressing his dissatisfaction with his team’s play.

“We could beat any team in the NBA on any given night. And we could get kicked by any team in the NBA on any given night.” james said. “It’s just…what’s our record?” Less than .500? 24-25? That’s who we are. ”

Hours after the game, James stirred up the situation by tweeting Hourglass.

The Lakers’ struggles have also taken aim at coach Darvin Ham, with some X users speculating that James’ tweets indicate that his patience with his coach is running thin.

James could simply be tweeting that the Lakers are running out of time, or he could be signaling to the front office that they need to acquire new talent before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

It’s no wonder James is frustrated with a team currently seeded ninth in the Western Conference and on the brink of making the playoffs.

Los Angeles entered this year believing it had the right structure to return to the NBA Finals after reaching the Western Conference Finals last year.

The Lakers have hovered around .500 for most of the season, unable to pick up a big win to jumpstart their long winning streak.

Los Angeles had a chance to pull off a season-changing win against the Warriors on Saturday, 145-144 in double overtime, but the Lakers lost twice to sub-.500 teams in the Rockets and Hawks, and those two I couldn’t demonstrate my competitiveness due to setbacks.

James had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists on Tuesday, but the Lakers, without Anthony Davis, trailed by 15 points entering the fourth quarter.

Things won’t get any easier for the Lakers, as three of their next four games will be against the best teams in the league: the Celtics, Knicks, and Nuggets.

“I don’t have any messages for my teammates,” James said. According to ESPN. “Go out and do your job.”
