LeBron James ecstatic to team up with Steph Curry for Olympics

Stephen Curry has virtually everything.

He has four NBA titles, two MVPs, one Finals MVP, 10 All-Star appearances and two gold medals.

But he doesn’t have two Olympic gold medal.

Curry has yet to play for the United States in an Olympic Games, but he has won gold medals with the U.S. at the FIBA World Cup in 2010 and 2014, the last time the U.S. won the tournament.

But Curry will be wearing the red, white and blue at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, an event LeBron James is particularly excited about.

The U.S. team posted a video showing a friendly exchange between players and coaches as they gathered together for their pre-Olympic training camp on Friday.

After James says “Finally” several times, Curry can be heard laughing and yelling “Finally” before the two share a hug about 24 seconds into the video.

“And have fun with that,” Callie replied with a smile.

James will be returning to the Olympic team for the fourth time in his career and first since winning a gold medal in 2012.

James previously won a bronze medal at the 2004 World Cup, when the team famously lost to Puerto Rico in the opening round, then to Lithuania before losing again in the semifinals to eventual gold medalist Argentina.

Since then, the US team has won four consecutive Olympic gold medals.

This year, in addition to LeBron and Curry, Kevin Durant, who has returned from Tokyo, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, as well as Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Haliburton and Anthony Davis will also be participating.

Edwards and Haliburton are the only players selected from a team that finished in an uncertain fourth place for a place in the 2023 World Cup, despite losing to Canada in the bronze medal game in their most recent international match.
