Arrest in Lee County Over Allegations of Sexual Assault

Authorities in Lee County, Florida, have apprehended 38-year-old Uriel Santiago Perez. Perez, a Mexican national living in the U.S. without legal permission, faces allegations of sexually assaulting a minor during a home tour.

There’s been a bit of confusion among various news outlets labeling Perez as a woman. It’s important to clarify that he is a biological male who identifies as a transgender female.

TRANSGENDER ILLEGAL ALIEN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY SEXUALLY ASSAULTING BOY. No American child should be a victim of illegal alien crime. We are doing everything in our power to get these criminals OUT of our country so they can never reoffend in America again.

Law enforcement reports indicate that Perez reached out to a homeowner in North Fort Myers, possibly pretending to inquire about a property listing. During this scheduled visit, he allegedly lured an underage boy into a bathroom and assaulted him. Local law enforcement was alerted and quickly arrived at the scene.

Following their investigation, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office discovered sufficient evidence to arrest Perez on charges of felony sexual battery. It turns out he had entered the U.S. without official permission and had a previous criminal history, which includes a prostitution conviction from 2013 in Georgia.

The specific details regarding when and how Perez initially entered the United States haven’t been disclosed. Still, it’s evident that he has been living here illegally for several years.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has since placed an immigration hold on Perez, instructing local authorities to keep him in custody while federal immigration processes unfold, especially if he is released from state proceedings.

Perez is currently being held as legal actions related to the sexual battery charges proceed.
