EPA administrator Lee Zeldin announced Wednesday that the Biden administration has found $20 billion for taxpayers who have been “parked” at financial institutions.
Zeldin, 45, explained in a video posted to X that obfuscation by the Biden administration was unprecedented and that he requested an unnamed financial institution to immediately return the funds to the EPA.
“To my surprise, about 20 billion taxes were parked at external financial institutions by the Biden EPA,” he said. Zeldin said. “This scheme is the first of its kind in EPA history and was intentionally designed to reduce surveillance and make all the money mandatory.”
The $20 billion appears to be money allocated to the EPA under the Inflation Reduction Act, which has helped government spend on environmental projects.
The EPA administrator and former New York Republican lawmaker said the large pot of money was responsible for guiding funds to non-governmental organizations “then, at their discretion” to eight others. It was awarded to the entity.”
According to Zeldin, one of eight entities, the Climate United Fund dolled out by winning just under $7 billion from the Biden EPA.
The Climate United Fund describes it as “a national coalition of experienced, nonprofit financial institutions investing in solutions that address the toughest economic and environmental challenges in our country.”
The group says it offers “affordable and accessible funding for clean energy projects in communities that are often overlooked by traditional investments.”
Zeldin raised concerns about how Climate United and seven other entities decide to allocate funds, and whether former Biden administration EPA staff will benefit from “Rush Jobs.”
“Let's make one thing abundantly clear. At this point, there is zero reason to suspect fraud by the bank,” Zeldin said.
“Finance agent contracts with banks need to be fired immediately, and banks must immediately return all the gold sticks that the Biden administration has thrown out of the Titanic,” he said, shocking the Biden administration's EPA. He made a statement by referring to a post-election video. An official told the Veritas Reporter of the undercover project that the agency was “threw a gold stick from the Titanic” before President Trump took office.
“The EPA needs to reaffirm its responsibility for all these funds,” Zeldin continued.
The EPA administrator said he plans to introduce the matter to the director's office and “we will also work with the Department of Justice.”
“The day we've accumulated cash to far-reaching left-wing activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equity,” Zeldin declared. “The American people deserve a more transparent and accountable government than what has happened in the last four years.”
