Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lee Zeldin recently expressed his sorrow after meeting a staff member from the Israeli Embassy who was tragically murdered in early May. He mentioned his grief over the violent actions attributed to “extreme Jews.”
Two individuals affiliated with the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., along with an engaged couple, Yaron Lisinski and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were fatally shot following an event at the Capital Jewish Museum.

Zeldin shared that he had met Milgrim, an American employee at the embassy, just two weeks earlier. He took to social media to convey his feelings about their encounter.
Zeldin wrote, “I just met Sarah at the EPA HQ office two weeks ago. She struck me as a young woman brimming with life and positivity.” He continued, “It was devastating to hear that she was one of the two people murdered last night amid a radical cry of ‘free Palestine.’ May Sarah and Yaron rest in peace.”
The couple was killed after leaving an event aimed at discussing humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
Milgrim and Lisinski’s history is poignant; Lisinski was born in Israel but raised in Germany, with a Jewish father and a Christian mother.
Authorities have apprehended Elias Rodriguez, a 30-year-old from Chicago, who reportedly shouted “free and free Palestine” while being taken into custody. The FBI is treating this incident as a hate crime.
