A group of prominent social justice and environmental activists with high-level access in the Biden administration are the so-called “top leaders” of the Nation of Islam, a black supremacist religious group with a long track record of anti-Semitism and racism. He employs one of the “soldiers.”
Terrence Muhammad, chief events and field coordinator for the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Hip Hop Caucus, said the Nation of Islam and its current leader Lewis, according to a review of social media posts by Fox News Digital. -He has repeatedly praised Farrakhan. The Hip Hop Caucus is committed to fighting injustice and creating change, and has been involved in key policy decisions for the Biden administration.
And Lennox Yearwood, president and CEO of the Hip Hop Caucus, has visited at least seven times since President Biden took office, six of them in 2023, according to White House visitor records. It is being held in 2017. The latest example involves Yearwood and two other hip-hop caucus members. Officials Tanya House and Cynthia Swann were invited to the West Wing for a private meeting with White House Domestic Policy Council Counselor Sophia Caratala.

In April 2015, during an event protesting police brutality, Muhammad posted a photo of Yearwood “with Malik Farrakhan and my FOI brothers.” The acronym “FOI” appears to refer to the Fruits of Islam, a national paramilitary organization of Islam.
Muhammad, who Yearwood described in 2020 as a “dear brother and friend,” has a long history of praising Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam and repeatedly raising money for them.
“Let me say it again for the record: I love [Louis Farrakhan]. He is my heart,” Muhammad said in a March 2018 post that included a photo with Farrakhan.
Hip-hop caucus officials even described themselves as “soldiers” of the Nation of Islam in 2019.
“I am a very proud, active, and well-known citizen/soldier of the Islamic State,” he wrote in March 2019 in a post tagging Farrakhan.
Two months later, Muhammad loudly defended Farrakhan in a post, calling him a “servant of God.”
Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam have been harshly criticized by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which were founded to combat defamation of Jews. The ADL called Farrakhan “one of the most prominent anti-Semites,” and the SPLC classified the Nation of Islam as a hate group.
The White House said in a statement to FOX News Digital that Biden fully condemned Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam. He also pointed to Farrakhan’s recent criticism of Biden over his support for Israel.
“For decades, President Biden has unequivocally condemned Louis Farrakhan and the disgusting anti-Semitic hatred he represents, including by co-sponsoring bipartisan legislation,” the White House said. Officer Andrew Bates told FOX News Digital. “He is, in this instance, totally condemning any praise for Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam, or its values. And as Louis Farrakhan’s recent comments demonstrate, The feeling is mutual.”
But the most recent example of Biden himself criticizing Farrakhan seems to be 40 years ago, in a speech before the full Senate in 1984.
Meanwhile, in addition to Mr. Yearwood’s visit to President Biden’s White House, the hip-hop caucus has been prominently involved in several actions by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Most recently, Yearwood was quoted by the EPA praising last month’s announcement to crack down on emissions from fossil fuel-fired power plants.
“EPA appreciates the ongoing important work of the Hip Hop Caucus and Rev. Yearwood advocating for environmental justice across the country,” EPA spokesperson Timothy Carroll told FOX News Digital. . “EPA condemns hateful and prejudiced speech against any group or individual based on religion, race, or background.”
The Nation of Islam and the Hip Hop Caucus did not respond to requests for comment.
