Left-wing commentator inaccurately asserts that the child in the Bad Bunny halftime show was Liam Ramos

Misleading Claims About Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show

Recently, Ed Klassenstein, a left-leaning influencer, made a false claim on X regarding a child featured during Bad Bunny’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl. He stated that the child was Liam Ramos, a five-year-old taken into ICE custody with his father in Minneapolis last January.

Klassenstein, who has around a million followers on X, tweeted, “Many of you may have missed it, but the kid Bad Bunny handed his Grammy to at the Super Bowl was Liam Ramos! Wow!” Alongside this, he shared a photo of Ramos and a child seen at the Bad Bunny show.

However, the child who appeared during the performance was actually Lincoln Fox Ramadan, a child actor. Multiple sources confirmed this, highlighting that Klassenstein’s assertion was incorrect.

Halftime Show Reactions

During the show, Bad Bunny presented Ramadan with the Grammy Award while the child observed the musician accept the award on television. Last week, Bad Bunny won a Grammy and used his acceptance speech to criticize ICE.

Initially, Klassenstein posted an update acknowledging mixed reports about the child’s identity, mentioning that there was confusion about whether the boy represented Ramos. Later, he clarified in another update that the child was, in fact, Lincoln Fox and not Ramos.

Klassenstein’s original post garnered significant attention, with about 10 million views and over 300,000 likes. As the misinformation spread, others, including the boy’s family and Bad Bunny’s team, quickly clarified that the child was not Ramos.

Ramos, alongside his father, was released from an ICE detention facility in Texas in late January after a judge’s ruling. Following their release, Congressman Joaquin Castro shared that he had met the family and helped them return to Minnesota.

Bad Bunny’s performance also stirred criticism from various figures, including former President Donald Trump, who expressed disdain in a post where he called the halftime show “absolutely awful.” He described it as an insult to American values, stating that it didn’t reflect what he considered standards of creativity and excellence.

Bad Bunny’s Message at the Grammys

In his Grammy acceptance speech, Bad Bunny emphasized, “ICE is out,” asserting that immigrants should be viewed as human beings and Americans rather than less than that.

Klassenstein has yet to respond to requests for comments following the backlash from his initial post.
