Unashamed leftists on social media came under fire for celebrating the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, with some lamenting that the shooter missed and that it was “likely to be the best day ever.”
“So someone finally got up the courage to yell ‘Pew Pew’ and failed?” TikTok user @cele2t3 posted shortly after suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the Butler Farm Show on Saturday, narrowly missing President Trump and killing one attendee.
“You were one second, one centimetre away from solving half the problem and you missed it!” the poster, who was apparently driving while filming, shouted into the camera.
“That trigger had a white guy on it, I’m sure of it! We were only centimetres apart!” they added.

Kyle Rittenhouse is a Trump supporter who gained national attention after shooting and killing two men and wounding a third during an August 2020 protest. Reply to video“The FBI should probably talk to the people in the video.”
TikTok Libs also shared videos of other TikTok users celebrating and joking about the shooting, which also left two other bystanders seriously injured.
In one video, the poster holds up a candle in a sarcastic attempt to summon the spirit of John Wilkes Booth, the actor who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
“Mr. John Wilkes Booth, if you’re with us, please, please…” the woman said, then paused and chuckled.
“We’re not even going to try our best to assassinate you,” another video claims.
“Because what was that? [JFK assassin] “Lee Harvey Oswald would never do that! And John Wilkes Booth would never do that!” they argued.
“How the hell did you shoot and miss?” asked another TikTok user in disbelief, using the handle @yourfavorites7880.
“No bitch, if you have a mission, you better hit the target properly,” they continued, adding, “Bitch, why don’t you practice before you get there?”
“Today was on the verge of being the best day of my life,” another TikTok user said sadly in a selfie video sitting on a couch as what sounds like a TV news broadcast played in the background.
Others took to the streets to voice their opinions, including a woman holding a makeshift cardboard sign that read “Wishing Mr. Trump a long and happy recovery!”, not far from Butler Memorial Hospital where the former president was treated after the attack.
Some online commenters used Saturday night’s assassination attempt as an opportunity to ridicule President Joe Biden, whose disastrous debate defeat last month and a series of subsequent gaffes have raised concerns about his mental health.
In one post, user X shared a photo of Biden, 81, with his mouth wide open with the caption, “Someone shot my VP???,” a reference to Biden calling Vice President Kamala Harris “President Trump” during a press conference earlier this week.
