Threats Against Benny Johnson
Conservative commentator Benny Johnson is now facing threats of violence, echoing a recent and alarming incident involving the assassination of Turning Point USA founder, Charlie Kirk.
A man named George Isabel Jr. was apprehended after allegedly making threats to leave Johnson’s children without parents, just days following the tragic event that led to Kirk’s death.
In the wake of this threat, Attorney General Pam Bondi expressed concern in a statement. She noted that Johnson shares a similar message to Kirk, emphasizing faith and patriotism. A menacing letter was sent to Johnson’s home, making it clear that the sender harbored intense hatred toward him, even expressing a wish for his death. Bondi described the individual as a coward who thought he could hide behind a screen without consequences.
“This type of intimidation won’t be tolerated,” she added, indicating that Isabel faces federal charges for his threatening communications.
Johnson is also vocal about the situation, highlighting the broader implications. In a conversation with Liz Wheeler, he recounted the specifics of the threats he received, including violent imagery and a desire to see him harmed like Kirk. He stressed that such actions are aimed at scaring families and hindering safe, public family interactions.
“The America First movement centers on family values, which is crucial. True happiness often arises from relationships, whether it be with God, loved ones, or raising families,” he elaborated.
According to Johnson, the opposition toward those prioritizing family stems from deeper issues; he claims many on the left might not have faith or family connections, leading them to express disdain against those who do. He reiterated that examples must be made to confront this ongoing struggle with threats toward families.
He ended by stating, “It’s impossible to advocate for families if parents are facing threats of violence.”
