Leftist UK Gov’t to Treat ‘Extreme Misogyny’ Like Terrorism: Report

Britain’s new Labour government is reportedly planning to treat “extreme misogyny” in the same way as terrorism amid allegedly increasing radicalisation of young men online.

Teachers, health workers and local authorities in England could be legally obliged to report suspected “extreme misogyny” among young people to the government’s counter-terrorism programme, as well as Islamic terrorism and far-right extremism. Telegraph Reports.

Under the programme, people referred to Prevent are assessed by police and local authorities to determine whether they need anti-radicalisation training.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has launched a review of the government’s counter-extremism stance, which is due to be completed by the autumn.

Cooper told the paper: “For too long, governments have failed to tackle the rise of extremism both online and on our streets, leading to growing numbers of young people being radicalised online. Hate incitement of all kinds is damaging and fraying the very fabric of our communities and democracy.”

“The fight against extremism has been severely hollowed out in recent years at a time when it is most needed.

“That is why I have instructed the Home Office to carry out a rapid analysis on extremism, map and monitor trends in extremism, understand the evidence about what works to dissuade and divert people from extremist views, and identify gaps in existing policy that need to be addressed to crack down on those who promote harmful, hateful beliefs and violence.”

“This work will form the basis of the Government’s new strategic approach to countering extremism and will work closely with local communities to build consensus and momentum for our plans.”

British police have argued that the rise of anti-feminist influencers like Andrew Tait represents a “national emergency” over the potential radicalisation of boys and young men. Tait is currently awaiting trial in Romania on charges of human trafficking and rape, which he denies.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Maggie Bryce said “We know that some of this is also linked to the radicalisation of young people online – the influential Andrew Tait, particularly the elements that are influencing boys – are extremely frightening and that is important to both the leaders of the domestic counter-terrorism work and to us in VAWG,” he said last month. [violence against women and girls] We are discussing perspectives.”

Following reports of a crackdown on “extreme misogyny”, Tate Written X accuses Home Secretary Yvette Cooper of “pretending to care about women’s safety while allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to arrive by boat.”

“What is ‘extreme’ misogyny? Masculinity. They want to kill the male spirit of resistance to slavery,” Tate added.

Others were critical of the reported plans, including comedian and GB News presenter Leo Kaas. I told a joke“Misogyny will be prohibited by those who cannot say what a woman is.”

Previous Conservative governments have frequently been criticized for placing too much emphasis on non-Islamic extremism, particularly the far-right, when Islamic terrorism is a much bigger threat to society. In 2019, the British intelligence service MI5 acknowledged that the threat from far-right extremism was “utterly tiny” compared with that of Islamic extremism.

Yet of all referrals made to Prevent from teachers and local authorities in 2022-23, just 11% were suspected Islamic extremism, 19% were “far right” and 37% were “vulnerable but not a counter-terrorism risk ideology”.

According to To GuardianBoys in the UK have already been reported to counter-extremism programmes by their schools for repeating Tate’s views or “verbally harassing” female teachers.

A Prevent staff member told the paper: “He [Tate] Obviously he doesn’t fit into the Prevent sphere, but incels do. He parallels and intersects with them. At school I find myself describing him as, effectively, toxic misogyny on steroids.”
