When I first saw this anti-scientific nonsense headline, I thought, “Why you should almost always use cold water.” post We are particular about things like dishwashers and washing machines. Like air conditioning, hot water is one of humanity’s great inventions. It’s not just luxury. That means cleanliness is extremely important. Hot water cleans and disinfects much more effectively than cold water. It also helps prevent the spread of infections, bacteria, and viruses.
The same goes for single-use plastics. Environmental residents hate single-use plastics (water bottles, straws, etc.), but they create a healthier society.
myself? I’m rational on this issue, not because I believe in climate change (I don’t), but because I want to save money. Most laundry is done in cold or cold water. My water heater is set low enough that I can take a shower or wash the dishes without having to add cold water. but…
