Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Andrea Mitchell Report” that after President Joe Biden’s debate performance, it’s a “legitimate question” to ask whether he was suffering from an episode or an illness.
“We all know there’s an age issue. He did the exact opposite of reassuring people with his high-risk, high-reward debate plans. It backfired,” Mitchell said.
“I was asked to speak from my experience,” Pelosi said. “My experience with Joe Biden is in the rescue package, the money in people’s pockets, the shots in their arms, getting kids back to school, getting people back to work, the child tax credit, the infrastructure bill, all the legislation we passed to save our country by rebuilding America’s infrastructure in a universal way that allows people to participate in the decisions, the CHIPS SCIENCE Act to create a self-sufficient world, the PACT Act to honor our veterans and help people affected by incinerators, the list goes on.”
She added, “We have all of those things that he helped us so beautifully write and get passed. He has the vision. He has the knowledge. He has the judgment. He has the strategic thinking. And so on and so forth. He had a bad night. And again, I think it’s a legitimate question to ask, is this an episode or is this a symptom? And when people ask that question, it’s a legitimate question for either candidate.”
