Lewis Hamilton lands first win for Ferrari in Chinese F1 Grand Prix sprint race | Formula One

Lewis Hamilton celebrated Ferrari's first Formula One victory after leading China's Grand Prix Sprint from start to finish in the second race for the Italian team on Saturday.

The seven-time world champion managed the tires in pole position, excluded the checkered flag from McLaren's Oscar Piastri in 6.889 seconds, with Red Bull's Max Burstappen taking third place in the 100km race.

Hamilton, the record winner of the 105 regular Grand Prix, joined from Mercedes in January, was his first time, and the first time Ferrari has won a sprint since the introduction of the abbreviated format in 2021.

McLaren's Randnoris, the winner of the Australian season opener, stayed at the top of the ranking after struggling to grab points in eighth place. Norris is currently 24-26 on Verstappen.

Hamilton's Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc was fifth behind Mercedes' George Russell.
