LGBTQ fire chief: DEI and leadership failures fuel LA’s wildfire disaster

The California wildfires have been devastating and left thousands of Americans homeless, but people aren't sure who or what is to blame.

“It's not just a natural disaster” Stu Bruguiere The author of “Stu Does America'' says: “Natural disasters are real and sometimes we have to deal with them. It can be really, really ugly, but there's some weird incompetence and weird priorities by the state of California and local officials. There is also.”

James Woods, who was forced to evacuate due to the devastating fire, places some of the blame on the authorities themselves.

“This is our new fire chief,” Woods began in a recent interview with Fox News. “She came into office and put in her bio, 'My number one priority is inclusion, diversity and equity.' Those are my priorities.”

“And I think someone forgot to fill all the reservoirs. When I was sounding the fire alarm, there was a fire engine parked in front of my house, but there was no fire engine. Because of this, we were unable to pump water. Please do not enter the reservoir,” he continued.

“Of course, DEI is very important in firefighting. I just want someone from Mongolia to put out my house and the fire that happened to engulf it. That's just my personal position. Yes, it is very important to me,” Bruguiere jokingly replied.

“But I think most people are the opposite. Most people don't care what color the person putting out the fire is. They just want the fire to go out,” he said. continues, “They want the fire department to provide water. That sounds like a pretty good idea, but diversity, equity, and inclusion are really important.”

Just a few years ago, Cal Fire Chiefs were praised for their three-year strategic plan to increase diversity.

“People ask me, 'What number are you looking for?'” I said, “I'm not looking for a number.” That’s never enough,” the fire chief said in a 2022 interview, where his interviewer praised him for being a “proud member of the LGBTQ community.”

“Awesome,” Stu comments. “Thankfully, we have a woman on the fire department who likes chicks, because that's an important function that needs to exist.” It really really matters how you want to go to bed. ”
