Liberals fume after NYC’s Empire State Building turns red for Trump

As Donald Trump won key battleground states North Carolina and Georgia, the Empire State Building lit up red overnight and New York City landmarks “celebrated the end of democracy.” This sparked passionate protests from Democrats.

The iconic Big Apple building was painted red from 11:22 to 11:27 p.m. after Trump was announced as having secured victory in North Carolina.

“For the next five minutes, we will be glowing red,” the Empire State Building's official X account wrote.

The landmark glowed red again at 1 a.m. after Trump again won Georgia.

The Empire State Building said on social media that it will turn blue or red for five minutes until 2 a.m. after victories in seven battleground states.

The iconic landmark was lit up only twice, in North Carolina and Georgia, when elections were declared around 5:30 a.m., but Vice President Kamala Harris' low performance in the Big Apple Some Democrats, already devastated by the poor performance, expressed disappointment at the gesture.

Others complained about the building; write“Wow, I even hate the Empire State Building now.”

The Empire State Building account was then forced to remind social media users that it had decided to shine a light on the battleground state ahead of the results announcement.

“As a reminder, we are happy to take all battleground state calls from The Associated Press,” a follow-up tweet said.
