The juror who stood alone in the Lindsay Clancy trial is ready to move on. Michael Desronvil has gained public attention due to his pivotal role in the mistrial and plans to go back to his regular job next week.
His lawyer, Edward Paltzik, shared with TMZ that Desronvil has been keeping a low profile following the trial that drew national interest.
Paltzik mentioned that Desronvil needed some time alone to “process everything” that transpired. He has been attending church regularly and spending time with his girlfriend.
“He does want to share his story eventually, but for now, he doesn’t intend to speak publicly… it’s just been a lot,” Paltzik conveyed to the outlet. For the moment, Desronvil is focusing on returning to a sense of “normalcy.”
According to Paltzik, Desronvil is thankful for all the support and donations he’s received.
The attorney also expressed concerns for Desronvil’s safety, stating he has communicated with Massachusetts State Police and the District Attorney. There are worries that Desronvil has been unjustly targeted and vilified. Desronvil plans to file a complaint against Clancy’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, aiming for his suspension or disbarment.
Following the trial, Reddington has called for an investigation into Desronvil’s behavior during the trial, including allegations of lying on a questionnaire and using a cell phone in the deliberation room.
Paltzik referred to Clancy as a “demon” and labeled Reddington “a disgrace” during a podcast this week. He cautioned that pursuing an “invasive” inquiry into a juror’s conduct might discourage citizens from fulfilling their civic duties.
Desronvil’s consistent stance during the jury deliberation was described as his way of opposing “evil.”
Reddington chose not to comment on Paltzik’s remarks.
