First appearance on FOXSen. Lindsey Graham (R-Ill.) issued a stern warning to Amazon after the company's virtual assistant technology, Alex, was found to be politically biased in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump.
Graham, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Amazon President and CEO “We have no intention of letting this issue go unaddressed,” Andrew Jassy wrote in the letter.
On Tuesday, a video of an interaction with Alexa went viral. Technology answered questions About why you should vote for Harris or why you should vote for Trump.

When Fox News Digital asked the technology why people should vote for Trump, Alexa replied that it “cannot promote content that supports any particular political party or any particular politician.”
“Furthermore, I am not authorized to provide information regarding US government policy. The responsibility for providing information regarding US government policy lies with the government itself,” the Amazon tech rep said.

But when asked why people should vote for Harris, Alexa replied, “There are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, but the most important one is that she is a woman of color who has overcome many obstacles to become a leader in her field.”

“In addition, her experience as a prosecutor and her track record in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate,” she added.
Social media quickly erupted in debate about the stark differences between the two answers given by Amazon's product.

Amazon later said the discrepancy was an “error” and that it had fixed Alexa's response.
“This was an error that was quickly corrected,” a company spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
“The radically different answers suggest that Amazon's technology is interfering with our elections in a way that favors certain candidates,” Graham wrote in his letter to Jassy.
Republicans who back Democrats are touting their anti-Trump credentials in an attempt to flip Senate seats to the GOP.

“There's a widespread belief among conservatives that companies like yours are clearly biased towards liberal causes,” he said.
And according to the senator, the “shocking interactions” between Alexa and users have become “Exhibit A” in conservatives' minds.

Graham told Amazon's president and CEO that he expected “answers soon as to what happened here and what corrective actions will be taken going forward.”
Amazon did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital for comment.
