Lisa Kudrow began to fear AI after seeing Tom Hanks movie

Lisa Kudrow is concerned about an uncertain future as artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in Hollywood.

During a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, he talked about his latest film, Here, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. The film used AI to allow the stars to play the same characters from their teens to old age.

“They filmed it, and they actually filmed that scene and were able to watch the replay as they were young and ready to see it,” Kudrow said. Ta.

She continued, “And all I got from that was, this is support for AI and oh my god. I was like, 'Oh, that's going to ruin everything.' It's not a thing, but what's left? Forget about actors, what do you do? They just get a license and recycle, right? ”

What is artificial intelligence (AI)?

Kudlow was also concerned about the impact of AI outside of the entertainment industry.

“Leaving that completely aside, what kind of jobs are there for humans? So what? People would be given some sort of living wage, they wouldn't have to work, right? How would that be enough?” Are you deaf?”

Hanks confirmed the use of AI in the film during an appearance on the podcast Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend last month.

“When you go and scan the data, they match it to every photo of me that exists, and they go back and find as many photos of me as I was 17, 18, 19 years old… my whole life. They , interrupting people with the dreaded words “Are you ready?” They use AI to do all the work and do it faster,” he said.

The “Forrest Gump” star continued, “We used two monitors during filming. One monitor was our actual appearance, and the other monitor was just about 1 nanometer. It was us in deep fake technology with a second delay.'' On one monitor, I'm a 67-year-old man pretending to be a high school student, and on the other, I'm 17. ”

Hanks doesn't seem too worried about AI, saying, “It's just a movie-making tool.”

He said he still spent hours in the make-up trailer because he needed “wigs and hair” to play characters of different ages for work like that seen on Here. said.

Hanks revealed that instead of the motion-capture dots often seen on actors' faces in behind-the-scenes footage, the technology used on “Here” allowed him to “match the pores on the face that way.”

The Oscar winner also mentioned another impact AI has had on performance.

“We had to look at things like timing and rhythm, so there's a factor there… I thought we were talking in a very realistic rhythm, and when I went to see the playback, “It was slow as molasses,” he explained.
