Attorney Tony Buzbee made the comments from Houston, Texas, during a press conference Tuesday.
“There are a lot of people who are very nervous. You can't hide a skeleton in a closet forever.”
“We will expose the perpetrators who enabled this act behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter regardless of who the evidence suggests,” he said.
Combs is charged with various offenses related to the debauched party, including drugs, alcohol and non-consensual sex. Federal prosecutors charged Combs with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and interstate transportation for the purpose of prostitution.
“There will come a day when we will name names other than Sean Combs, and there are many names. It's already a long list, but the nature of this case is that we really, really need to know ourselves before we do it.” We're going to see if that's true,” Buzbee said.
“The name will shock you,” he promised.
The attorney said powerful people involved in the parties facilitated abuse at their own parties, which dates back to 1991 and occurred primarily in California, New York, Georgia and Florida. He cited some of the horrifying stories of the alleged victims, which he said supported the lawsuit.
Buzbee gave advice to his alleged accomplices.
“Those who know who they are should come forward now,” he continued. “As we speak here, I'm sure there are countless people out there who are extremely nervous. You can't hide a skeleton in a closet forever. I think there are a lot of people looking for memories.”
Buzbee said one of the alleged victims was as young as 9 years old at the time of the abuse.
