LIV Golf Adelaide sees fan rocket water bottle of caddie’s head, sending him to the ground

The biggest event on the LIV golf calendar ended a bit rough on Saturday.

At the 12th hole, nicknamed the “watering hole” because of its resemblance to the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale and its party atmosphere, a fan threw a water bottle at Lucas Herbert’s caddy, Nick Pugh. It hit me directly. straight in my head.

Fortunately for Pugh, he There were no injuries. He quickly recovered after the incident.

“I was worried about him at first, but he’s fine now,” Herbert said of Pugh, according to the newspaper. sydney morning herald.

“He’s good and he did a really good job. He could have been more upset about it, but he took it really well. You give a water bottle to someone who’s had 15 beers. It would probably be difficult to ask them to stay away. That might be asking too much.”

Interestingly, the incident occurred right after Herbert made the short putt for birdie on the 12th hole. Moments earlier, his playing partner Branden Grace made a long putt that sparked a huge celebration.

“[Grace] I made the putt off the top and the drink landed on the green,” Herbert explained. “It’s a lot of fun and it’s in the right place so you can deal with it. Some people took it too far. But the audience was self-policing and getting too close resulted in boos. It was more than necessary. That’s crazy.”

Let’s hope things don’t escalate further in Sunday’s final game, but trust Adelaide fans will be in full force again.
