And there were two.
Republican 2024 presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis will spar tonight on a debate stage in Des Moines, Iowa, ahead of Monday's caucuses in the Hawkeye State.
The one-on-one showdown will be one of the last chances for former U.N. Ambassador Haley and Florida Gov. DeSantis to make their case to voters before the first caucuses of the 2024 White House race.
Former President Donald Trump met the eligibility criteria for Wednesday's debate but decided to sit out, as he has for all other debates in the 2024 cycle.
Instead, Trump will participate in a Fox News town hall, which is in direct opposition to the CNN debate. Due to low poll numbers, no other Republican candidates were eligible to participate in the Iowa debate.
