If you are looking to move two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, it always helps to be hosting the very worst team in the division. Arsenal and Manchester City won last night to keep the pressure on Liverpool but, with Sheffield United in town, will not be too concerned about the outcome later.

The Blades have won three times all season and have thrown away leads in injury-time in their past two outings, so the signs are not good for Chris Wilder and his soon-to-be Championship squad. But surely they can provide one last hurrah for their fans by securing an unlikely victory to make this dismal season somewhat memorable.

Liverpool had to toil a bit on Sunday to down Brighton but they got there in the end. Anfield was rocking because they know they have a chance of sending Jurgen Klopp on his merry way with a second title in his back pocket, which would be a lovely finish for the German.

1 minute: Sheffield United take kick-off and desperately try to push up the pitch. It worked, giving Robinson an early chance to fire a throw-in into the box. The ball flicked into the front post and McAtee was free at the back, but his shot was blocked by Kelleher. What a great start that was!

I was at Anfield on Sunday. It was quite hard work for Liverpool as Brighton were well organised, but there was little doubt about the result.

Chris Wilder also said: “We’ve got to set ourselves up and enjoy the challenge in front of us. A lot of our players want to be in the position that our players are in tonight, in front of an incredible crowd. You would like that.”

“After a difficult night against Arsenal’s first team, we managed to get a couple of draws.” [they lost 6-0 at home]. We have to perform tonight and be on the A game to get something, this is the Premier League and if we are going to get a shocking result we have to be on the A game . I was a bit critical about the changes we had to make. It is important to refresh physically, not tactically. ”

Captain Jack (Robinson) has a cunning plan and tells TNT all about it. “It’s going to be a tough game. We have to do our best tonight,” Robinson said. “We’ve had some results recently, so tonight is a chance to capitalize on that confidence.”

Hello!

Hosting the worst team in the division always helps if you want to top the Premier League table by two points. Arsenal and Manchester City kept the pressure on Liverpool with wins last night, but with Sheffield United in the city, we won’t be too concerned about the outcome after that.

The Blades have won three times all season and have taken the lead in stoppage time in their last two games, so it doesn’t bode well for Chris Wilder and his soon-to-be Championship side. But surely they can give their fans one last hurray by securing an unlikely victory to make this miserable season a little more memorable.

Liverpool had to struggle a bit to beat Brighton on Sunday, but they got there in the end. Anfield knew they had a chance to send Jurgen Klopp off on a high with a second title, so they were excited. That would be a great finish for the German.

Look forward to the crackers!
