Lockheed Martin Increases Missile Production Threefold as New Munitions Facility Begins Construction

Lockheed Martin has recently initiated the construction of a new military acceleration center in Camden, Arkansas. This center aims to equip American workers with the capability to produce some of the most advanced missile systems at unprecedented volumes.

Spanning a massive 2.2 million square feet on over 2,400 acres, the facility will incorporate advanced manufacturing techniques, robotics, and digital twin technology, all designed to enhance production speed while improving precision and reliability.

We’re committing significant funds to enhance both speed and scale.

And this is merely the start. Over the next three years, Lockheed Martin plans to invest billions into building and upgrading more than 20 facilities across Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, and Texas. This expansion will include new production lines, upgrades to existing sites, and the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies—all tailored to meet urgent requirements from the Department of Defense and allied countries.

These initiatives will bolster Lockheed Martin’s military acceleration capabilities by over 40 percent, adding more than 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing space, with an additional million square feet already in the works to meet growing demands.

Since 2016, Lockheed Martin has seen a substantial increase in ammunition production rates, over 220%, and intends to keep investing and innovating to maintain speed and scale.

Creating numerous jobs in America

These efforts are expected to generate tens of thousands of new jobs for American professionals. Since 2016, Lockheed Martin’s production workforce has expanded by over 60%, with projections indicating an additional 50% growth by 2030.

Ensuring a resilient supply chain is a matter of national security

The volume of production closely correlates with the strength of its supply chain.

Lockheed Martin collaborates with more than 13,000 suppliers, employing a dual-sourcing strategy, selectively in-sourcing crucial components, and utilizing real-time supply chain monitoring to preemptively address potential bottlenecks.

Recently, over 200 domestic and international suppliers convened at the Lockheed Martin Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Summit to align production goals and enhance collaboration throughout the industrial network.

The underlying message was unmistakable: both capability and coordination are vital for tackling current security challenges.

Final thoughts on America’s future

Lockheed Martin is committed to investing in American jobs, industries, and security. The outcome of these efforts is a formidable arsenal that reinforces America’s strength.
