Longshot Biden challenger Marianne Williamson drops out of presidential race

Longshot Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson has suspended her presidential campaign.

Williamson announced in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday night that he would not seek the White House in 2024.

“I read a famous quote the other day that says sunsets are proof that even the ending is beautiful. So today, even though it’s time to suspend campaigning for the presidential election, I want to see that beauty and hope for it all.” “To all of you who have incredibly supported me on this journey, as donors, as supporters, as a team, as volunteers, look at the beauty in that,” she said at the beginning of the video.

Williamson went on to list the accomplishments and attention she received during her campaign and encouraged her supporters to remain hopeful.

Williamson’s suspension comes as the 2024 presidential election begins to tighten on both sides.

Democrats have already endorsed President Biden, who is seeking reelection to the White House after his first term in office.

Williamson first ran for president in 2019, also against Biden and a number of other Democrats, and announced in early 2023 that he would seek the presidency in 2024.

The move did not sit well with Democrats, who attacked Mr. Williamson over his challenge to Biden.

This has always been a big issue for Williamson’s campaign, as political parties often support the incumbent president, but Williamson himself has not backed away from criticizing the party.

In a January interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, Williamson accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of “manipulating the process” of the primary election.

Asked about Biden not appearing on the New Hampshire primary ballot, Williamson said: “It’s actually outrageous, the fact that the DNC feels they’re qualified to anoint the president.” said.

“I think people are paying attention. I think people are scared,” she continued. “70% of Democrats say they want to hear other people’s voices. As your reporting has shown, the president’s approval ratings are very low, and probably not as low as you say. No one knows, but there are a lot of rumors.” The public doesn’t understand the fact that the DNC has chosen to manipulate the process in this way. ”
