Lori Lightfoot, the former Mayor of Chicago, reveals a strategy to expose ICE agents.

Lori Lightfoot, the former Mayor of Chicago, is leading an initiative aimed at disclosing the identities and locations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, as immigration activists look to challenge supportive law enforcement measures.

Lightfoot, who made history as the first Democratic mayor to be ousted from re-election in four decades in 2023, announced the launch of the ICE Accountability Project, as reported by WFLD-TV.

The former mayor asserted that this initiative will “unmask” ICE agents, enabling the public to recognize them and monitor their movements.

“They function in public spaces,” she stated. “We possess an undeniable constitutional right to document the activities occurring.”

“Our goal is to compile all alleged criminal actions by ICE and CBP agents,” Lightfoot elaborated. “We aim to establish a platform to centralize real-time updates and make that information accessible to the public.”

She expressed hopes that the information gathered would be instrumental in holding specific ICE agents accountable and would prevent the previous administration from deporting individuals illegally residing in the country.

Lightfoot is not alone; other Democrats are also working to obscure ICE agents’ actions, potentially putting federal officers at risk.

As reported by Breitbart News, some Democrats in Los Angeles are contemplating launching an online platform to track ICE activities, allowing activists to respond swiftly during immigration enforcement actions and arrests.

The Department of Homeland Security has accused these Democrats of endangering ICE officers in Los Angeles.

Additionally, in Illinois, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias is cautioning ICE agents and other federal law enforcement personnel against obscuring license plates on their official vehicles, viewing it as a violation of state law.

Giannoulias, who was previously involved in his family’s bank that faced foreclosure in 2010, shared a video on social media asserting his “zero tolerance” for such alleged illegal acts, encouraging residents to report any occurrences.

“In Illinois, modifying a license plate to evade detection is strictly prohibited,” he emphasized. “No one is above the law, including federal employees,” he declared.

The state’s Democratic governor has initiated a commission focused on obstructing ICE operations while also challenging legitimate federal actions.
