Death Certificates Released
Fox News Digital has reached out to the LAPD for further comments.
On December 23, death certificates for Rob and Michelle were released. According to information obtained, the couple was cremated at Mount Sinai Mortuary. The certificates confirmed that they died from injuries linked to multiple sharp impacts, suggesting the involvement of another person with a knife.
On December 14, police found their bodies in the master bedroom of their home in Brentwood, California. Nick Reiner, the couple’s son, was quickly identified as a person of interest and was arrested later that same day.
By December 16, Nick faced double murder charges due to the deaths of his parents, specifically charged with two counts of first-degree murder under circumstances involving multiple victims. Additionally, there is a special charge related to the personal use of a knife, which is considered a deadly weapon. Prosecutors have indicated that these charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Nick’s first court appearance was on December 17, where his lawyer requested a future proceeding. His arraignment is scheduled for January 7.
As it stands, a decision on whether to pursue the death penalty remains undecided.
