Los Angeles Lakers courtside seating increasing for NBA playoffs

Lakers Launch Exclusive Courtside Experience for Playoffs

The Lakers have introduced a “new premium experience” for fans eager to get up close with superstars like LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reeves during the NBA playoffs.

This morning, the Lakers’ management revealed that second-row courtside seats will be made available for the postseason.

According to their announcement, the floor seats have been sold out for almost 50 years. The revamped seating promises premium hospitality, which includes in-seat food and beverage service, VIP club access, and an elevated experience from the moment guests step into the arena.

Pricing for courtside tickets usually varies from $4,000 to $10,000 per seat depending on the game day. For playoff games, this price can soar to between $20,000 and $40,000, again influenced by the specific matchups and dates.

Since the “Showtime” Lakers era kicked off in 1979, these coveted courtside seats at the former Staples Center have been among the hottest tickets in sports. Now, courtside seats at Crypto.com Arena are widely recognized for offering one of the best views in the entire NBA, especially considering how many celebrities typically attend Lakers games.

Jack Nicholson is perhaps the most renowned Lakers fan, having been a fixture courtside since the 1970s, though his appearances have notably lessened in recent years. Other famous faces like Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ice Cube, Will Ferrell, and Justin Bieber are often seen sitting courtside, adding to the game’s allure.

Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were at the forefront during the “Showtime” era, followed by the dynamic duo of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, who clinched three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002. Following Bryant’s retirement in 2016, the Lakers transitioned to new talents. The current roster features a new “Big 3” with James, Doncic, and Reeves as the focal points of the team.
