Los Angeles Lakers win against Denver Nuggets 127-125 in overtime

The Lakers held a commanding lead for a significant portion of their matchup against the Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday night.

They started the game strong, showing solid defense and attention to detail. Sure, there were a few mistakes here and there, but the Nuggets struggled with their three-point shooting early on, which allowed the Lakers to stay ahead comfortably.

However, as the game progressed, the Nuggets found their rhythm beyond the arc. Although the Lakers didn’t falter as badly as earlier in the game, their defense loosened significantly. They let go of leads of 17 points in the second quarter and 12 points in the third.

Yet, when it mattered most, the Lakers’ key players stepped up. Luka Doncic hit a clutch 17-foot jumper, sealing the dramatic 127-125 win over the Nuggets.

He also blocked Tim Hardaway Jr.’s last-second shot, and shortly after, made a follow-up shot, solidifying the Lakers’ triumph.

Doncic’s shooting wasn’t the best—hitting just 10 of 26 attempts—but he managed a triple-double with 30 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Austin Reeves led the Lakers with 32 points, along with seven rebounds and six assists, making crucial plays throughout the game. Marcus Smart added 21 points, five three-pointers, and five steals, while LeBron James contributed 17 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

On the Nuggets’ side, Nikola Jokic stood out with a triple-double, tallying 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 14 assists.
