Hawthorne police said a male victim with gunshot wounds was taken to a hospital from the scene near a shopping mall at Crenshaw Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, KABC reported.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said four other victims arrived at area hospitals by other means. The adult female victim was later confirmed dead. One person is in serious condition and three are stable, KABC reported.
