FBI Raids Virginia State Senator’s Home Amid Corruption Probe

The FBI conducted a raid on the home and office of Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas in Portsmouth on Wednesday. This operation is part of a significant federal corruption investigation, a situation that Lucas, who is 82, is no stranger to given her controversial political history.

Known for her brashness and crude comments, Lucas has a reputation that precedes her. In 2022, her cannabis dispensary was reported to be selling products with THC, which is legal to possess but not to sell in Virginia. There were also claims that some products were mislabeled, containing lower THC levels than advertised. Yet, surprisingly, state regulators haven’t taken substantial action against her business.

Lucas has publicly stated that her shop, “Cannabis Outlet,” specializes in hemp products and CBD.

One of the most notable aspects of Lucas’s career has been her confrontational style, which gained attention during the recent congressional redistricting debates in Virginia.

This January, she took to social media, stating, “I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner, but we do not need ‘coaching’ on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1.” This was in reaction to pushback from national Democrats regarding her proposals.

In 2022, Lucas also stirred controversy when she dismissed a gift from Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin, a fleece vest, quipping, “I killed most of his agenda this year and all I got was a cheap vest?”

In May, after her push for redistricting, she retorted to a critic on social media, asking, “I was out partying my ass off all weekend long, where the hell were you?” Lucas seems to engage frequently with users on social media, even targeting those with relatively few followers. One commenter received a sharp response: “STFU and sit your clown ass down; you are just another hating ass lightweight!!”

Although she’s known for her strong opinions, Lucas’s political predictions haven’t always been on point. For instance, she proclaimed during a debate in September 2024 that Trump was “a lying ass clown,” asserting that Kamala was besting him. However, Trump won the election later that year with significant electoral support.

Interestingly, Lucas often dives into rather peculiar topics. She joked about needing knee surgery due to her “foot up Glenn Youngkin’s ass” and made offhand remarks about adult websites, claiming support for stricter age verification measures while using humor to highlight the issue.

In another lighthearted moment, she mentioned gaining nearly 1,000 followers from a joke about adult content, expressing gratitude for the laughter it brought her.

Should she face felony charges in connection with her cannabis business and be convicted, Lucas might find herself sharing a similar fate with Virginia House Speaker Don Scott, a fellow Democrat and previously convicted felon. Scott was pardoned by Joe Biden after serving nearly eight years for a federal drug charge in 1994.
